Overview

Job Title: Temporary Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Education Centre

Salary: $88,014 - $93,592

Hours: 35 hours per week

Duration: September 2, 2025 to October 31, 2025 (with possibility of extension)

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) serves approximately 15,400 students each day at 38 in-person schools (31 elementary, two K-12; four 7-12, one secondary). Key Responsibilities

* Develop, recommend, support and provide some direct programming to meet the needs of students diagnosed with communication delay or disorder. Monitor student progress to determine on-going appropriateness of speech/language interventions.
* Assess and diagnose communication difficulties. Summarize assessments, diagnosis results and recommendations into report format.
* Make recommendations to principals regarding school level approaches and practices for speech and language needs. Make recommendations to the Superintendent of Student Services for system approaches and needs for speech and language needs.
* Present reports and attend case conferences to explain results of assessments and implications for programming and interventions to meet the needs of students.


Qualifications

* Minimum post-secondary education completion of a Master in Speech Language, or equivalent and registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) in good standing.
* Minimum of six (6) years of professional experience.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a strong client and quality service focus.
* Experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting and demonstrated experience with intervention strategies appropriate for youth with a variety of communicative disorders.
* Evidence of strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
* Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Background check.
