About the role As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a key role in ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently, safely, and hygienically at all times. Working closely with chefs, supervisors, and the wider kitchen team, you will help maintain high standards across food preparation and back-of-house operations. Your day-to-day duties will include Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen, wash areas, storage rooms, and service areas. Washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently during service periods. Supporting chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and ingredient organisation when required. Ensuring all waste disposal and recycling procedures are followed correctly in line with health and safety regulations. Keeping floors, workstations, fridges, and storage areas clean and hazard-free at all times. Receiving and organising deliveries, storing stock safely and correctly following company procedures. Assisting with stock rotation and maintaining organised storage areas. Following all food hygiene, infection control, and health and safety procedures in accordance with company standards. Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations. Helping maintain a positive, professional, and team-focused working environment. About you A strong work ethic with a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, hospitality, or cleaning environment is preferred but not essential. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards. Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends. Good communication and teamwork skills. Understanding of basic food hygiene and kitchen safety is beneficial. Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential as training can be provided. Physically fit and comfortable with standing for long periods and manual handling duties. Right to work in the UK required.
