Your roles and responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant:
2. Educate and engage children with special educational needs, focusing on promoting positive behaviour and social interaction
3. Support children in developing appropriate communication skills
4. Provide one-on-one guidance and supervision during activities
5. Help create a safe and inclusive environment for all children
6. Assist with daily routines, including personal care if required
Non-negotiables for a Behaviour Support Assistant:
7. You must have experience working with children or vulnerable adults—particularly those with special educational needs—or be a recent university graduate eager to begin a career in education.
8. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
9. Patience, empathy and the ability to build rapport with children
10. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team
