HC-One is seeking a Maintenance Operative with solid experience in maintenance, building, DIY, cleaning, and housekeeping. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and preferably some IT skills. Communication skills should be considerate and kind, especially when engaging with residents and colleagues.
The role involves ensuring residents live in a well-maintained and proactively inspected environment. Responsibilities include conducting audits, maintaining records, and performing repairs such as replacing taps, fitting extractor fans, repairing windows, or decorating with wallpaper—all with kindness and professionalism.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond appropriately. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake additional role-specific training. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns as necessary.
