Overview

We are excited to announce that a fixed term post has now arisen for an experienced and dynamic Senior Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join our Burnley Community Mental Health Team.

The role is a predominantly Occupational Therapy specific workload, providing specialist assessment, formulation and intervention to individuals with complex occupational, functional, social or vocational needs. The post also involves offering support and advice to the multidisciplinary team through consultancy to ensure service users' occupational needs are considered and met. The successful candidate will work within a supportive Occupational Therapy network, with regular supervision, access to CPD opportunities, and potential to develop supervisory skills and contribute to service development, including an evolving OT group-work project.

Main duties

The post holder will deliver a range of group and/or individual interventions drawn from relevant frameworks, prioritising planning and delivery of interventions for people whose mental health problems significantly impact their occupational functioning and who have complex occupational needs. As an emergent leader and skilled communicator, the post holder will liaise across service boundaries, work within varied settings, and use evidence to support and develop practice. They will provide regular fieldwork opportunities for occupational therapy undergraduates and contribute to the learning of other team members or students from other disciplines. They have responsibilities for mentoring and/or developing others and supervising more junior practitioners and support staff, delegating work to enhance team effectiveness and efficiency.
