Outreach Tutor (Hartlepool) ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY As an Outreach Tutor, you will plan, create, and deliver highly personalised lessons designed to build confidence, engagement, and academic progress. You will play a key role in reintroducing structure into the students day, while also supporting both academic development and life skills. A strong commitment to inclusive education is essential, and experience with communication systems such as Makaton and PECS would be highly beneficial. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS - Location Within the community or students homes in Hartlepool - Position: Outreach Tutor (Complex Needs) - Type of work: Part-time, approximately 15-25 hours per week - Minimum pay rate: GBP25 per hour - Hours: Sessions typically 1 to 3 hours long EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS - QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS, or equivalent qualifications - Minimum 6 months experience working in a UK school or with SEN learners - Experience with Makaton and/or PECS (highly desirable) - Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued within the last year (desirable but not essential) TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: - Hold the right to work in the UK - Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application - Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years PROSPERO TEACHING CAN OFFER: - Accredited CPD courses, including safeguarding and behaviour management - Access to our in-house Training and Development Team If you are passionate about inclusive education and have experience working with young people with complex needs, this is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference.
