Riverside plays a key role within the Group by bringing deep expertise in cleanroom‑compatible packaging and by supporting the development of Sterimed’s solutions for aseptic and pharmaceutical environments.

To support this transition phase and strengthen the site’s financial organisation, we are looking for a Head of Finance (M/F).
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Riverside Medical, the Head of Finance will oversee all financial operations of the site, ensure robust financial governance, and contribute to strategic decision‑making during a period of significant organisational evolution.
This position combines financial leadership, team management, and hands‑on involvement in operational finance. It requires a strong understanding of manufacturing environments, the ability to support cultural transformation, and the capacity to structure and develop a finance function undergoing change.
The Head of Finance will also be the key liaison with Sterimed Group Finance, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and supporting the integration of group standards and tools.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
• Lead, coach and support the Finance team.
• Foster a culture of accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure efficient organisation of day‑to‑day finance operations.
Financial Reporting
• Deliver monthly Group reporting in line with Group deadlines and standards.
• Present financial results and analysis to management and Group Finance.
• Ensure full compliance with UK GAAP, statutory requirements and Group accounting policies.
• Manage the statutory audit and Group audit processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting
• Lead the annual budgeting process (P&L, Cash Flow).
• Maintain rolling forecasts and provide clear analysis of deviations.
• Support department heads in building and challenging their financial plans.
Cash Flow & Working Capital
• Maintain the short‑term (13‑week) cash flow forecast using Agicap.
• Oversee the long‑term rolling cashflow forecast.
• Support ongoing improvement of working capital processes.
Tax & Compliance
• Oversee VAT returns and import VAT compliance (including Bills of Discharge).
• Supervise Corporation Tax processes and payments.
Finance Operations
• Ensure accurate management of:
➢ Payroll processing (weekly & monthly)
➢ Sales ledger & credit control
➢ Purchase ledger
• Drive process digitalisation and efficiency improvements.
Other Responsibilities
• Own the relationships with banking partners and insurance providers.
• Develop KPIs and analytical dashboards to support decision‑making.
• Support internal projects linked to digitalisation, automation and system optimisation (Xero, Agicap, credit control tools).
Upcoming / strategic projects
• Development of detailed cost reporting, including SKU‑level costing.
• Optimisation of Xero, following its recent implementation (integration with Agicap, digitalisation of payables, process enhancements).
• Evaluation of payroll systems, assessing the suitability of the current solution (Sage 50).
• Working capital improvement initiatives, with a focus on cash‑flow visibility and operational
Profil recherché :
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Strong experience in a manufacturing environment (mandatory).
• Experience in team leadership
• Experience in process improvement, simplification and leveraging digital tools.
• Group reporting experience desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of priorities.
• Comfortable navigating a cultural shift from SME/family‑owned operations to a more corporate environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
