Description
As a Manager in our Non-Profit team, you will be responsible for a portfolio of clients in excess of £500k+. You will deliver multiple assignments to agreed deadlines, reporting directly to the Partners. The role requires proven experience working with non-profit clients.
You will have a focus on non-profit organisations, demonstrating high technical standards in these areas. Our clients include Charities, Schools, Oxford colleges, Religious Organisations, NHS charities, and some commercial clients for a mixed portfolio.
You should be a great communicator, able to explain accounting concepts to clients, and confident to attend Governor and Trustee meetings and present tenders. You will need to immerse yourself in the sector, attending client premises, seminars, and occasional evening events.
Moore Kingston Smith values collaboration and growth. You will contribute to the firms development, develop junior staff, and support the firms values, acting as a role model.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day contact with MKS team, clients, HMRC, and other advisors.
* Handle all aspects of audit and accounts assignments, including planning, budgeting, supervising, and reviewing work.
* Coordinate tax compliance and liaise with Tax Specialists as needed.
* Ensure timely completion of files for Partner review and submission to HMRC and Companies House.
* Utilize IT tools like Pro Audit, CCH, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Promote the firms interests with clients and third parties.
* Motivate and give constructive feedback to the team.
Staff Management
* Mentor trainees and support staff development.
* Assist in staff motivation, supervision, and training.
Practice Development
* Attend client events and seminars.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
Administration
* Suggest improvements for practice systems.
* Assist with billing and debt collection.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
* Experience managing own portfolio.
* Understanding of corporate tax and VAT.
* Knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
* Technically proficient and motivated.
* Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
* Flexible, proactive, and capable of motivating others.
* Ability to identify prospects and develop the practice.
