About the Role
CDM Principal Designer - Edinburgh required for a dedicated CDM and Health and Safety role within the construction sector. Based in Edinburgh, this position suits a professional with at least three years post qualification experience delivering Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015. The role focuses purely on CDM leadership rather than design management, taking responsibility for compliance across a varied project portfolio. You will initially be office based before moving to a hybrid arrangement, supporting project teams and embedding best practice across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Principal Designer services across multiple construction projects
Manage CDM 2015 compliance from inception to completion
Advise design teams on statutory duties and risk management
Prepare fee proposals and scope documentation
Deliver internal CPD on Health and Safety legislation
Report to senior management on compliance performance
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum three years construction industry experience
Proven delivery of Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015
Background in architecture, technology or construction disciplines
Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
Experience mentoring colleagues and leading workshops
APS, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable
