Process Development Technologist
We have a new opportunity for a Process Development Technologist to join our NPD team in Middlesbrough!

Location: Middlesbrough
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – 5pm, Friday: 8:30am – 4pm
Salary: Up to £35,000 based on experience
Job Purpose:
Support the delivery of NPD and EPD projects across the group, ensuring products are developed in line with brand strategies, category plans, and growth targets. Follow the Product Launch Process to deliver timely, compliant, and high-quality products, and assist with Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Key Duties:
* Manage the process from kitchen handover to product launch, ensuring timelines and cost targets are met.
* Scale up products within site food safety and technical standards.
* Oversee all stages of project critical paths, understanding deviations' implications.
* Collaborate with development team members across multiple projects and accounts.
* Lead process teams to ensure product quality and margin targets are achieved from kitchen to factory.
* Coordinate trials, including planning, documentation, and data collection.
* Work with production, engineering, and technical departments to support trials and product validation.
* Prepare and review documentation such as recipes, process parameters, and trial reports.
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including HACCP and other site-specific protocols.
* Support product launch activities, including sign-offs, artwork, and customer samples.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
* Assist with continuous product and process evaluation post-launch.
Experience:
Ideal candidates will have a passion for food and a desire to learn. The role is suitable for those starting or progressing their career in food manufacturing with minimal experience.
* HND/Degree in food science, manufacturing, or related field (desirable)
* Experience in food manufacturing within an FMCG environment
* Basic HACCP/Food Safety knowledge and training
