Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a high‑performing engineering team responsible for building and maintaining scalable, distributed backend systems. The successful candidate will design, develop, and support mission‑critical services used by internal and external consumers in a high‑availability, high‑throughput environment.
You will work closely with engineers, technical leads, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver robust, well‑designed solutions that meet functional and non‑functional requirements.
Responsibilities
1. Design and develop server‑side Java applications using modern engineering standards.
2. Build and maintain highly available, scalable distributed systems operating in near‑real‑time environments.
3. Implement multi‑threaded and concurrent processing where performance and throughput are critical.
4. Develop modular, reusable components following clean architecture and principles.
5. Produce detailed technical designs and solution documentation for development items.
Essential Skills
6. Server-side development experience.
7. Knowledge of multi-threaded development.
8. experience in implementing global, distributed systems
9. experience in building FX or eRates pricing systems for eCommerce.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
10. KDB/Q knowledge is advantageous.
11. Familiarity with rates and bonds RFQ trading via ION MarketView Java API is advantageous.
12. Understanding the operation of trading desks in a large, multi-site investment bank with significant eCommerce offerings.
13. Knowledge of foreign exchange in a high volume, low latency environment.
14. experience working on enterprise systems and agile delivery of Quant and business requirements.
15. Understanding of Spot FX market conventions.
