Service Line Information
Enterprise-Wide Technology (EWT) is an internally facing, dedicated team of over 450 technologists and other specialists, focused on keeping technology running seamlessly for everyone in KPMG.
Role Purpose
The Enterprise Architect will play a pivotal role in aligning the firm's business strategy with its technology strategy within Enterprise Digital Workplace and AI domains. This role will involve translating business strategies into equivalent technology strategies, challenging the business strategies based on emerging and future technology trends, help business design and govern their technology roadmap, i.e. a portfolio of technology transformation projects that deliver the business and technology strategies; influence business and technology stakeholders to adopt the right technology solutions; and escalate risks, issues and critical dependencies to the appropriate leaders as required to ensure the successful delivery of the strategy.
The Team
Strategy & Architecture sits within EWT. The team provide technology solutions to the firm, covering Design, Assurance and Strategic Direction to the firm.
Key Responsibilities
You will be required to maintain your core knowledge of AI and Enterprise Digital Workplace technology ecosystem; build roadmaps and solutions; and govern relevant technology choices within Enterprise Digital Workplace and AI domains.
Core knowledge
1. Demonstrable knowledge of LLMs, MCP Server, A2A, GenAI, Agentic AI, Google ADK, Gemini Enterprise, AI Foundry, and Copilot Studio
2. Understanding integration technologies such as Azure Integration Services, API management, and connectors.
3. Proven expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), MCP Server, Application-to-Application (A2A) integration, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Google ADK, Gemini Enterprise, AI Foundry, and Copilot Studio.
4. Strong grasp of integration technologies including Azure Integration Services, API Management, and various connectors.
5. Skilled in the governance and management of AI technologies, with a focus on observability, discovery, and the application of frameworks such as Model Cards and Agent Cards. Maintains up-to-date technical knowledge across current, emerging, and future technology trends, with a clear understanding of their business impact.
6. Deep and continually evolving expertise in the Enterprise Digital Workplace and AI technology ecosystem, including the key platforms and applications that interface with this domain.
Roadmaps & solutions
7. Work with Capability CTOs, and business and technical SMEs to develop technology roadmaps for AI and Enterprise digital workplace capabilities using enterprise architecture tooling
8. Ensure that AI and Enterprise digital workplace roadmaps are aligned to the relevant business strategy, and coherent with those of other Capabilities and technology domain roadmaps
9. Work with Capability CTOs, technical SMEs, and specific projects to analyse and translate business requirements into technical requirements, ensuring that these are feasible
10. Ensure that Solution Architects produce designs that are fit for purpose, adhere to relevant standards and patterns, leverage reusable components, and are coherent with wider KPMG technology domains
11. Contribute to the selection of specific technologies
12. Influence business and technology stakeholders to adopt the right technology solutions
13. Support the design and implementation of operating models that improve the design and delivery of successful technology deployments
14. Escalate risks, issues and critical dependencies to the appropriate leaders as required to ensure the successful delivery of the strategy
Technology governance
15. Help to establish, and participate in, the technology assurance process, building reference models and ensuring that standards, patterns, and reusable components are enforced
16. Chair and run design authorities where necessary
17. Ensure that legacy technology is decommissioned to manage and reduce technical debt
18. Support the selection and implementation of enterprise architecture tools that help to accelerate and govern technology initiatives
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
Essential (Enterprise Architecture)
19. Expert knowledge of AI technologies and understanding of how data and analytics technologies like Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, support AI delivery and quality.
20. Expert knowledge of Enterprise Digital workplace technologies i.e., M365 components Teams, SharePoint Online, Co-pilot, Stream, Viva etc. and other collaboration technologies i.e., Miro etc.
21. Good knowledge of AI processes including appreciation of how processes may benefit from automation/ AI technology enablement.
22. Good knowledge of EA governance incl. steps required, e.g., Info Sec approval, conceptual and solution architecture reviews, security assessments, pen tests, code reviews and service acceptance criteria
23. Good understanding of architectural risks, technical debt, incl. its causes, how to measure it, and remedial actions incl. decommissioning
24. Demonstrable experience in Enterprise and Solution Architecture roles, with at least 1 years as an EA
25. Qualified in ITIL and TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)
26. Experience of using enterprise architecture tooling preferably Software AG Alfabet
Essential (Other)
27. Experience of working with Agile SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle Management) methods
28. Knowledge of Power Automate, Power Platform and other Microsoft low code environments
29. Understanding of common business analysis techniques and approaches
30. Able to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience in a way that is relevant, easy to consume and compelling
31. A high level of general, technical knowledge incl. current, emerging and future technology market trends and their impact on business
32. Good understanding of project management concepts, incl. Gantt charts/plans, risks, assumptions, and dependencies, etc.
33. Good oral and written communication skills
34. Good interpersonal and leadership skills
35. Ability to leverage networks in KPMG, e.g., to tap into additional expertise if required
36. Comfortable working with ambiguity at the beginning of projects, with ability to provide clarity of direction despite this

37. Good knowledge of Business Architecture, incl. business and technology strategies, operating models, process models, business and technology capability models and taxonomies
38. Experience of leading offshore teams
39. Practical understanding of GDPR and ISO 27001
40. Bachelor’s degree
