Job Description
Our client an established Chemicals Manufacturing business are currently looking to recruit an experienced and apprentice trained Mechanical Shift Engineer working a 4 on 4 off split shift pattern of 2 days and 2 nights (12 hour shifts).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical preventative and reactive maintenance work in an industrial environment working on equipment such as gearboxes, pumps, mechanical seals, pipework etc.
2. Mechanical plant installation and modification work
3. Operation of a boiler, waste solvent incineration and emissions abatement plant
4. Statutory inspections - pressure testing, plant integrity and commissioning work
5. The use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
6. The ability to use and interpret equipment drawings, manuals and other technical information to assist with all works
7. Work in accordance with the company safe systems of work and permit to work systems
Candidate Requirements:
8. Hold City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification in a Mechanical Fitting / Engineering Discipline - ESSENTIAL
9. Ideally hold a recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship
10. Previous Experience / Training with MEWP's, Abrasive Wheels, and Confined Spaces Mechanically would be highly desirable
