We are seeking an exceptional leader to take on the role of Deputy Manager. This position requires a dedicated individual with a proven track record in retail management, strong leadership and team management skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maximising Profit:
* Drive sales growth by reviewing store performance, identifying priorities, and implementing actions to improve results.
* Focus on delivering great availability and cost controls through efficient processes.
* Create a culture of selling and saving to maximise store sales and profit.
* Deliver on agreed key performance indicators (KPIs).
2. Engaging and Developing Team Members:
* Support the Store Manager in communicating effectively with the team and foster an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.
* Develop the team by providing coaching, training, and resources to enhance their skills and capabilities.
* Conduct daily store walks to focus on customer-facing areas and take relevant action.
* Role-model a proactive approach to service, aiming to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
* Ensure all cash handling and security policies and processes are fully implemented.
* Digital Service: Implement One Best Way processes in-store through the team.
* Ensure legal compliance across all areas to minimise business risk.
* Implement health and safety policies and processes fully in-store, prioritising team and customer safety.
4. Leadership:
* Lead by example, setting the pace for the team to deliver outstanding results.
* Be approachable, respectful, and enthusiastic, working collaboratively with colleagues.
* Take full responsibility for the store operation, colleagues, and customers in the Store Manager's absence.
* Communicate effectively, having regular conversations and listening to understand.
* Plan ahead, prioritising key tasks and activities.
* Solve problems by making informed decisions that benefit the store.
* Coach the team by asking the right questions to drive performance and help them excel.
* Delegate tasks at the right time to the right colleagues.
