We’re recruiting on behalf of a busy and well-established garden centre restaurant for a Sous Chef to join a fresh food kitchen focused on quality, consistency, and seasonal cooking.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who enjoys leading a team, cooking with fresh ingredients, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance with no evening service and no split shifts.

Responsibilities as Sous Chef
* Support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
* Lead the kitchen during service and in the Head Chef's absence
* Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation
* Assist with menu development and seasonal specials
* Support ordering, stock control, and supplier management
* Monitor food costs, waste control, and kitchen efficiency
* Train and develop junior chefs
* Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are maintained
What We’re Looking For
* Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie
* Passion for fresh, seasonal food
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Excellent organisation and time management
* Ability to perform under pressure during busy services
* Team-focused and proactive approach
* Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen procedures
Ideal Background
