Are you passionate about advancing therapies for patients with skeletal and inflammatory joint conditions? Our client is leading biopharmaceutical company seeking a talented and motivated Senior Scientist to join their discovery biology team. This is a lab-based role at the interface of cell biology, molecular science, and computational analysis, supporting the discovery of novel therapeutic entities that can transform patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Design and perform in-vitro translational assays to measure phenotypic outcomes that reflect disease biology and target mechanisms. Develop and optimize complex cell models using skeletal-relevant primary cells such as osteoblasts, chondrocytes, and fibroblast-like synoviocytes. Investigate mechanisms of action and signalling pathways using molecular and computational tools. Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams to drive progression of therapeutic programs. Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records in electronic lab notebooks. The ideal candidate will have: PhD (or equivalent) in Cell Biology, Immunology, or a related discipline, ideally with a background in skeletal or inflammatory biology. Proven hands-on experience with primary human cell isolation and culture. Strong technical expertise in cell-based assays (including 96/384-well plate formats) and flow cytometry. Experience applying computational biology approaches to transcriptomics (bulk/single-cell RNA-seq), cytometry, or proteomics datasets, with the ability to analyse and interpret complex biological data. Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute, and analyse experiments. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Desirable Skills Experience with qPCR, RNA-Seq, MSD/ELISA, western blotting, immunoprecipitation, transfection, or high-content imaging. Prior biopharmaceutical industry experience is an advantage. This role is offered on a 12-month contract with potential for extension. Why Apply? If you’re looking to build your technical expertise, work on exciting scientific projects, and grow within a supportive environment, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
