Teaching Personnel are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a well-respected secondary school in Horndean. This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience or explore a future career in teaching.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for supervising classes of students aged 11–16 in the absence of their regular teachers, ensuring learning continues effectively. You’ll deliver pre-prepared lessons, maintain a calm and focused classroom environment, and support students across a range of subjects. The role may also involve providing additional support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and supervise pre-set lesson plans across multiple subjects for students aged 11–16.
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
* Keep pupils engaged, motivated, and on task throughout lessons.
* Offer appropriate support to SEN students when required.
* Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and conduct.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with secondary-aged pupils is desirable, ideally with some SEN exposure.
* Confident classroom management and the ability to adapt quickly to different situations.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
* A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for supporting young people in their education.
