Our client is an established and well-regarded firm of Chartered Accountants in Northamptonshire, recruiting an Audit & Accounts Manager to support a growing SME client base. This is a hands-on role offering genuine responsibility, variety, and a clear pathway toward Partner-level progression for the right individual.
The role
* Reporting directly to the Audit Partner, this is a full-time role with approximately 90% audit focus, alongside accounts preparation.Key responsibilities include:
o Day-to-day management and delivery of audits
o Audit planning and client meetings
o Managing and mentoring audit staff
o Supporting grant sign-offs (including automotive-funded projects)
o Some travel to client sites (not all audits are remote)
The firm undertakes around 28 audits, covering a diverse client base including UK groups, subsidiaries of overseas companies, manufacturing, food, software, construction, and recycling businesses (up to c.£75m turnover).Long-term progression toward Partner levelAbout you
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Background in public practice
* Strong audit experience
* Basic tax computation knowledge
* Familiarity with audit software (Mercia desirable but not essential)
* Enjoys being hands-on, not just reviewing work
