Overview
Location: Home based (with national travel). Reports to: After Sales Manager, Andy Bentley. Mentorship: Senior Coach, Ken West / Technical Director, Steve Weavers. This is a field-based role in the FASSI Training Academy, the UK’s technical training backbone for over 10 years. We are expanding and recruiting a second Product Support Engineer / Training Academy Coach to join the team.
Train the Future: Coaching Engineers on FASSI’s TECHNO Range. Since 2015, under Ken West, more than 100 engineers have progressed through our coaching pathway. Our Academy emphasises coaching to ensure engineers apply learning in real-world scenarios. In 2025, we launched Pathway to Proficiency syllabus to support the next generation of TECHNO cranes. We have partnered with the National Fluid Power Centre (NFPC) and include their courses in our accreditation pathway, plus the TECHNO simulator rig at Warwick for practical, classroom-based experiences before live crane installations.
What You’ll Do
* Deliver hands-on training and coaching to engineers across 18 authorised dealers & service points nationwide.
* Support engineers through the Pathway to Proficiency modular certification system, from Maintenance & Inspection through Authorised Technician to FSC TECHNO system setup.
* Lead training at our Warwick HQ using the TECHNO simulator rig and live crane setups in the field.
* Provide technical support and diagnostic assistance on-site and via the service helpdesk when required.
* Share technical bulletins and best practices across the dealer and service network.
This is a field-based role: expect around 80% on-site with dealers and service partners across the UK, and 20% office-based from home or Warwick.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in truck loader crane service, repair and installation.
* Competence in hydraulic and electronic systems; exposure to modern control systems (FASSI FX500 / FX900 is advantageous).
* A natural coach: able to listen, support, and guide engineers without simply “fixing it for them.”
* Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage your schedule, minimise travel inefficiencies, and respond quickly when needed.
* Willingness to travel nationwide and work away from home. When overnight stays are required Mon–Thu, you’ll normally work a four-day week with Fridays work from home.
* A can-do, will-do attitude; the role may involve unexpected challenges requiring on-site action until the job is done.
What You’ll Get
* A 1–2 year development period as an understudy to Ken West, depending on experience, before becoming fully autonomous.
* Full mentorship from Ken West, who has led the Academy since its inception.
* Technical support and guidance from Steve Weavers.
* Fully developed training course materials, plus training administration, database, and diary support from the After Sales Manager, Andy Bentley.
* Completion of the ALLMI Thorough Inspectors course, supporting safe use of lorry loaders and industry best practice.
* Opportunity to be at the forefront of training on the new TECHNO crane range.
* A clear development pathway to become a senior coach within the Academy and a key contributor to the team.
* Commitment to work/life balance; we recognise travel demands and aim for a sustainable long-term role.
* Company vehicle, mobile phone, laptop.
* Competitive starting salary with salary progression and performance bonus.
