Role: Manager - Mechanical Handling BoMH Locations: Derby, Warrington or Manchester, with hybrid working options available Salary: We anticipate paying a salary of between £57,600 - £75,600 DOE Reporting to the Senior Manager for Mechanical Handling, the Manager – Mechanical Handling (BoMH) is accountable for development of the fully integrated technical solutions and governance, covering the specified scope of the through-life Mechanical Handling equipment. This role, along with other management positions within the Mechanical Handling team, will be responsible for the specified product scope identified across the commodity group. This is an evolving picture, and it is vital that the candidate can be a flexible and agile leader to deal with this change. It will be the responsibility of this candidate to lead, manage and develop the team to deliver the suite of products through the entire product lifecycle and enable the team to become the design authority for this commodity group. The candidate will be a leader within mechanical equipment design with a proven track record of delivery of large complex programmes and with a high level of aptitude for people leadership. A strategic thinker who is comfortable leading within a developing business and circumnavigating the challenges that this brings with ambiguity, changing business and customer demands and emergent business needs, demonstrating effective leadership behaviours in the face of these challenging circumstances. There is an expectation that the candidate can flex and evolve within the role, within the business and lead the team as it develops. It is essential that the leader can build the capability within the team for this level of scope and deliver against tough demands from across the business. The successful candidate shall lead a Mechanical Handling team supported by cross functional integration of all areas of the business required to deliver the final product into the power station delivery model and be responsible for building and maintaining the design capability required. This includes: the overall direction and governance of the programmes of work under their scope; accepting the validity of the technical solutions developed under their direction; the delivery of a robust design and safety justification, supported by detailed mechanical analysis and Design for X assessment; the integration of this solution into the overall design and development of the total engineering capability needs across mechanical handling design, for scope of responsibility. This role also plays a significant part in enabling delivery strategies to be developed, stewarding cost and programme and leading people through an exciting time within the SMR business development Salary and Package We anticipate paying a salary of between £57,600 - £75,600 DOE Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5% Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
