Job overview
To oversee the delivery of clinical care for patients with severe and enduring mental illness who attend the Depot, Clozapine, and Wellbeing Clinics, including satellite clinics elsewhere within the Borough.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include the administration of depot medications, ordering of medication, mental state assessment, working in the clozapine and physical health clinics. Ensuring the day to day smooth runing of the clinical clinics.

Mental Health and Wellness Teans' Physical Health Clinics is designed to offer administration of depot injections to SMI patients in Mental Health and Wellness Teams. The clinics monitor patients on clozapine medications, and provide physical health checks including blood tests and vital sign monitoring.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The key elements of this role are:
1.Participating in the development and implementation of high standards of clinical care ensuring the service provided is needs led, compliant with national guidance and is viewed positively by service users.
1. To support the delivery of a vaccination programme to patients with severe mental illness
2. To oversee clinical stock ordering and management of medical devises within the Jane Atkinson Centre, ensuring they are serviced on a regular basis, as per Trust processes.
3. To support the delivery of placed based care, through delivery of clinics in satellite bases aligned to PCN localities.
Key Responsibilities:

·To work in ways that consistently promotes the safety, dignity and self-esteem of patients.
·Continuing responsibility for proactively monitoring and managing patients on the clinic caseload.
·To participate fully in the clinical risk assessment process.
·To be involved in encouraging patients to accept an optimum level of responsibility for their individual care and with their consent seek the co-operation of other care staff, relatives and friends where appropriate.
·To provide health promotion to patients, their carers and families, giving advice on managing their illness, prevention of illness and staying as healthy as possible.
·To ensure that planned interventions are delivered safely, effectively and are evidence- based.
·Responsible for effective use of resources.
·Prioritise the team’s workload to enable the patients’ needs to be met within the limits of available staffing resources.
·To maintain up to date knowledge of services available, which would be of help to patients, acting as a contact to key agencies.
·To take part in clinical supervision, appraisal with line managers and other designated professionals as appropriate.
·To provide health promotion to patients, their carers and families, giving advice on managing their illness, prevention of illness and staying as healthy as possible.
·To be familiar with the steps to be taken in medical emergencies and act accordingly.
·To be conversant and comply with the Trust’s policies and procedures, Health and Safety, Administration of Medicines, Lone Working.
·Provide clinical and managerial leadership, acting as a resource for others
·Ensure yearly statutory and mandatory training is undertaken.
·Complete and submit statistics including performance indicators and returns at the required time.
·Identifies situations of clinical risk and takes appropriate action to ensure a safe environment for patients/clients/families and staff.
·Participates in case review and debriefing activities as required
·Familiarity with the requirements of the Mental Capacity Act and its application to practice.
