Senior Bid Manager – Mercer
Location: Manchester, England, United Kingdom (Flexible hybrid working; may consider London or other UK offices)
Mercer Marsh Benefits is looking for an experienced Senior Bid Manager to join our Global Commercial Team. This role focuses on driving revenue growth by developing high‑value, creative bid and tender responses to win new business and client re‑bid opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the bid management process and contribute to business growth through high‑value bids for Global Benefits Management and Darwin solutions.
* Ensure compliant, engaging, and standout bid submissions aligned with best practices and internal guidelines.
* Coordinate with SMEs to complete bid criteria and meet tender deadlines.
* Monitor, review, and evaluate bids/tenders, identifying learning and applying lessons to future submissions.
* Maintain and update the bid library, liaising with SMEs for content accuracy.
* Conduct feedback and lessons‑learned sessions across stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum of 7+ years managing proposal writing and project delivery aligned with client needs.
* Customer‑focused, innovative approach to win strategy development and storytelling.
* Demonstrated ability to manage high‑value bids to a defined process and deliver quality work on time.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
* Strong communication, writing, and relationship‑building skills.
* Experience researching and drafting proposal responses with SMEs.
* Ability to own master documents and coordinate multiple rounds of edits.
* Analytical skillset with a keen eye for detail and accountability.
* Willingness to embrace AI technologies in bid creation.
* University degree (preferably in business, journalism, marketing, English, communication).

* Accreditation to APMP Foundation (advantageous).
* Familiarity with QorusDocs, Adobe, and online bid procurement tools (e.g., Ariba).
