This is an exciting opportunity to lead a large team of outpatient physiotherapists in the Princess of Wales hospital. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of a team of staff, both clinical and clerical working within the physiotherapy service, participating in recruitment and undertaking annual appraisals of members of the team.

He/She will use highly specialised, advanced clinical reasoning skills in the area of Musculo-skeletal physiotherapy and independently plan and manage their own daily complex caseload; ensuring that patients are seen by the most appropriate healthcare professional.

The post holder will follow professional code of conduct and take a lead role in the post-graduate education of physiotherapy colleagues and other professions. He/She will impart specialist knowledge and skills, guiding further knowledge acquisition and act as a mentor for junior colleagues.

The post holder will undertake relevant research/audit within the Physiotherapy Service, developing an advanced practice portfolio and implementing best practice in line with National Guidelines


Main duties of the job

We are really excited to welcome a new team lead to the MSK Physiotherapy team here at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

This is a great opportunity to lead a team of innovative physiotherapists in delivering evidenced based physiotherapy and driving the research agenda within CTM UHB.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the other team leads and clinical leads who work across 6 sites to deliver equitable and efficient MSK physiotherapy.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Experience

* Extensive MSK Experience
* Experience of audit and research
* Evidence of NHS experience
* Evidence of mentoring others
* Previous leadership experience
* Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above


Education/Qualifications

* Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
* HCPC Registration
* Evidence of specialist knowledge and training
