Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and knowledgeable clinical pharmacist who has a keen interest in education and training to help shape the workforce of the future. This joint role is between The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) and The University of Sheffield. The role offers an opportunity for continuing in clinical practice whilst contributing to the delivery of the undergraduate MPharm degree. The Clinical Educator will be involved in the design, development and delivery of high-quality clinical practice-based teaching alongside working as part of the TRFT pharmacy team to provide a clinical service at an advanced level to a range of wards within the Trust. The postholder will be substantively appointed by TRFT. The post will involve an out of hours commitment operated from home and participation in a weekend and bank holiday rota.
Responsibilities
* To participate in the provision of a full pharmaceutical service to Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust by maintaining a high quality, cost effective and efficient patient centred clinical pharmacy service at ward and department level.
* The postholder will also provide constructive feedback on prescribing and clinical errors, supporting staff development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* To work with the Pharmacy team and the Head of Pharmacy Practice to design, develop deliver and assess practice and clinical teaching within the MPharm programme ensuring that it is accessible, inclusive and contributes to the Universitys Teaching and Learning Strategy.
* This postholder will also be required to contribute to the assessment of students using OSCEs, written assessments and portfolios alongside academic tutoring and professional mentorship.
* Out of hours commitment operated from home and participation in a weekend and bank holiday rota.
Qualifications and Skills
* The successful applicant must be a registered pharmacist with a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy, or equivalent, and have experience in education and training.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work alongside colleagues to develop the curriculum within the team are essential.
