Annual salary: up to £48,000.00 Transport Manager Location: Enfield Salary: £48,000 per annum Contract: Full time, Permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs. About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to lead and oversee the delivery of a national transport service within a fast paced and evolving environment. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for ensuring a high quality, compliant and customer focused service across a geographically dispersed network. Working as part of a central service delivery function, you will manage regional transport operations and a central administration team, ensuring resources, systems and processes are aligned to deliver consistent performance and contractual compliance. As Transport Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective management and coordination of national transport services, working closely with regional teams and internal stakeholders to ensure a reliable and responsive service. Managing the national transport operation to ensure smooth day to day delivery Leading and supporting regional transport officers and a central administration team Managing the planning and allocation of transport resources across a national network Ensuring compliance with contractual, financial and operational requirements Maintaining accurate records, data and reporting to support performance management and KPIs Identifying and managing operational risks, escalating issues where required Building strong working relationships with internal teams, third parties and external stakeholders Driving a culture of continuous improvement, ownership and accountability Ensuring a customer focused approach that is culturally aware and sensitive to individual needs Supporting wider business projects and providing cover as required Role Criteria: Proven experience managing and leading teams Proven experience of supplier management Experience of Fleet/Vehicle Management Experience managing a service delivery or call centre environment Experience of logistical planning and coordination Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail Commercial awareness and Reporting Excellent communication and relationship building skills IT literate with the ability to work with systems and data Proactive approach with the ability to work collaboratively across teams Benefits we can offer you 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Annual Mears Fun Day - Our annual Fun Day is organised as a massive thank you from the Executive team for all the hard work!
