About the Role As a Project Specialist – Doors Division, you will manage the end-to-end sales and technical process for SWD’s bespoke door sets, sliding systems, ironmongery and metal screens. You will handle sales enquiries, develop technical specifications, prepare accurate quotations, and ensure every project complies with SWD’s order process before being released to suppliers and factory production. This is a commercially driven and detail-oriented role requiring strong technical understanding of bespoke doors, fire regulations, ironmongery, finishes, and site coordination. You will act as the key link between client, supplier, and factory to ensure projects are delivered accurately, profitably, and to SWD’s quality standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Client Relationship & Sales Management Act as the primary contact for doors clients from enquiry through to completion. Handle incoming sales enquiries and develop detailed project briefs. Prepare and follow up detailed quotations to convert opportunities into confirmed orders. Maintain strong communication with clients throughout each project. Identify new business opportunities within the doors sector. 2. Technical Specification & Order Accuracy Confirm all survey and site information including FFL, wall thickness, reveals, ceiling heights and clearances. Confirm door designs, dimensions, glazing types and fire-rating requirements (FD30). Specify door leaf and frame thickness, intumescent requirements and compliance details. Confirm finishes including paint, stain, veneer, sheen levels and bespoke colour matching. Confirm ironmongery specifications including backsets, hinges, flush bolts and certification. Ensure PAS24 and fire compliance documentation is complete prior to order release. Take full responsibility for ensuring every order is technically accurate and complete. 3. Quotation & Supplier Management Source and analyse supplier quotations ensuring accurate descriptions and competitive pricing. Apply correct charges for bespoke samples, tooling, transport and client-supplied items. Ensure margins align with company targets. Submit fully compliant and technically complete orders in line with SWD order processes. 4. Factory & Production Coordination Liaise between client and factory to ensure production drawings reflect confirmed specifications. Work closely with Production & Quality teams to maintain weekly updates and reduce errors. Coordinate logistics and delivery planning. Support continuous improvement in the Doors division. 5. Quality Control & Process Compliance Ensure all projects follow SWD’s internal door order checklist. Reduce remakes and site issues through thorough specification and communication. Maintain clear documentation and handovers to Production and Operations. Key Skills & Experience Minimum 3 years’ experience, ideally within doors, ironmongery or joinery. Strong technical understanding of fire-rated doors, door sets and ironmongery. Ability to interpret technical drawings and site information. Commercial awareness and margin management experience.
