Paralegal – Road, Pedestrian & Cycling Injury Team

Jones Whyte Law Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Paralegal to join our busy Road, Pedestrian & Cycling Injury (RPCI) Team at Jones Whyte. The Role
As a Paralegal within the RPCI team, you will manage your own caseload of pre‑litigated cases and negotiate claims for liability and damages. You will also act as a point of contact for clients, providing high‑quality advice on a wide range of injury claims, predominantly pre‑litigation but with exposure to litigated claims where appropriate. The team is comprised of Partners, Associates, Senior Solicitors, Solicitors, Senior Paralegals supported by a dedicated team of Legal Secretaries and Legal Assistants. The role presents an opportunity for the right candidate to develop personally and professionally within the firm and gain promotion. Responsibilities
* Handling claims from start to finish
* Ensuring cases are progressed quickly and efficiently
* Assessing prospects of a case
* Working with clients to understand requirements and manage cases in line with service level agreements and best practice
* Prioritising work effectively and maximising efficiency in working practices
* Communicating clearly and consistently with insurers, solicitors, fee‑earners and clients; always providing a professional and efficient service
* Taking and drafting statements
* Carrying out investigations into liability and quantum
* Instructing and analysing medical evidence
* Calculating loss of earnings and assessing credit hire claims
* Working with our case‑management system to update and maintain records on a daily basis
Requirements
* At least 2 years’ experience handling RPCI cases
* Ability to manage a high volume of cases
* Motivated and proactive individual
* Organised, punctual, and professional
* Strong, clear, and concise communication skills with the ability to maintain client contact throughout the process
* Professional and confident telephone manner and ability to provide excellent service to our clients
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
* Computer‑literate, proficient with MS Office
* Able to work autonomously but also within a team
Desirable but not essential
* Full litigation experience
