Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our permanent Court Team in Children and Family Services. Responsibilities
* Hold and manage care proceedings from start to final hearing and permanency planning.
* Deliver high-quality assessments and case management using evidence-based approaches.
* Work in a team with manageable caseloads, reflective supervision and a strong team culture.
* Support and mentor newly qualified social workers and students to develop the workforce of tomorrow.
* Be part of a city-wide transformation focused on better outcomes for children and families.
What we’re looking for
* A Social Work England registration and recognised Social Work qualification.
* Significant experience in safeguarding and the family court arena.
* Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, including Working Together to Safeguard Children.
* Confidence to complete high-quality assessments and evidence-based reports in a timely manner.
* A child-centred, restorative approach, working collaboratively with families and partners.
