About the Role
We are supporting Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to secure their first teaching role in supportive schools across Trowbridge.
Whether you are completing your training or recently qualified, this is an opportunity to begin your teaching career with guidance, structure, and the right support in place to help you succeed.
You will be placed in welcoming schools where you can develop your teaching practice, build confidence, and complete your ECT induction with the support of experienced mentors.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned to the curriculum
2. Managing classroom behaviour effectively and consistently
3. Assessing and tracking pupil progress
4. Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
5. Working closely with mentors and senior staff during your ECT years
6. Developing your teaching practice through reflection and feedback
ECT Support & Development
7. Full support through your ECT induction period
8. Dedicated mentor in school
9. Structured development and regular review meetings
10. Access to ongoing CPD and training opportunities
11. Support in finding the right school placement
What we’re looking for:
12. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to obtain QTS
13. Strong classroom presence and positive behaviour management approach
14. Passion for teaching and supporting pupil progress
15. Willingness to learn and develop as an Early Career Teacher
16. Good communication and teamwork skills
