Overview
We are recruiting ambulance drivers to provide a high standard of professionalism and compassion when transporting patients and service users. Candidates may be required to operate out of different stations.
Responsibilities
* Drive an equipped NEPTS ambulance or other vehicle as necessary.
* Perform non‑urgent and non‑critical, planned patient journeys, usually with a colleague but sometimes alone.
* Assist patients with varying levels of care, including lifting and transferring to/from the Trust vehicle.
* Provide appropriate care within the driver’s level of training and competence.
* Adhere to the Trust Code of Conduct, Standards of Professional Behaviour, Service Instructions, and Trust Standing Procedures and Policies.
* Comply with the physical demands such as heavy lifting and handling in difficult scenarios.
Qualifications
* Reasonable standard of education and personal responsibility.
* Evidence of delivering excellent customer care.
* Ability to demonstrate professionalism and compassion.
* Physical fitness to perform heavy lifting and handling.
* Successful completion of a theoretical and practical driving assessment, and attendance at a formal interview.
* Fluency in Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers welcome.
Employment Details
* Course start dates: 22nd June 2026.
* Shortlisted candidates will need to attend a theoretical and practical driving assessment.
* On successful assessment, candidates will be invited to a formal interview.
Compensation
In line with the Trust’s Starting Salary Procedure, all applicants will start at the bottom of the band for the applied position, with potential to negotiate a higher salary based on prior relevant experience.
