REINSURANCE ACCOUNTANT – BERMUDA – 10% TAX – HR308
About this opportunity
Our client, a life and annuity reinsurance company, is currently hiring a Reinsurance Accountant to support its reinsurance operations and financial reporting activities.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP for the reinsurance business, and reporting to its parent company
* Assist in the implementation of all aspects of the financial reporting function, including implementation of processes, tools and systems to assess, measure, manage, monitor and report on results and sox controls
* Assist in investment accounting, reinsurance accounting and operations
* Assist in transaction execution for new acquisitions/business, and the coordinating workstreams with legal, tax, treasury, and M&A teams
* Assist in the preparation and filing of statutory reports on a timely basis
* Preparation of reports to senior management and presentations for the board
* Liaise with various stakeholder groups, both externally (auditors, administrators) and internally
* Prepare ad-hoc analyses and presentations for senior management group, as required
* Support the preparation of financial controls and related documentation, investment accounting and reporting to Group for other entities, as required
What you’ll need
* Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or other related technical discipline
* Professional accounting qualification (i.e. CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA) with at least 3 years post qualification experience in accounting/finance
* Experience with financial reporting or auditing (re)insurance companies under US GAAP
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High attention to detail
* Results driven, highly analytical and great attention to detail
* Experience with Dynamics, Workiva, Clearwater Analytics desirable
* Experience working in a life-reinsurance company, strongly preferred
