Offer description

Teaching Personnel is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Primary SEN Teacher to join one of our specialist partner schools in the Nuneaton (CV11) area. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher who thrives in nurturing, therapeutic environments and is committed to supporting children with SEMH, Autism (ASD), ADHD, and a range of additional learning needs.

The school offers exceptional support, access to ongoing CPD, and a strong, collaborative team ethos—making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow and develop their SEN expertise.

About the Role

As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will lead a small class of pupils who require a highly individualised, trauma‑informed approach to learning. Your role will involve delivering creative, engaging lessons that support emotional regulation, communication, and academic progress.

You will work closely with support staff, therapists, and the wider inclusion team to create a safe, predictable, and nurturing learning environment where pupils can thrive both socially and academically.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH, ASD and ADHD.
* Create a calm, structured classroom environment that supports emotional regulation.
* Use trauma‑informed, therapeutic strategies consistently throughout the school day.
* Implement and review EHCP targets, behaviour plans, and personalised learning plans.
* Work closely with Behaviour Mentors, LSAs, and the SENCO to ensure consistent support.
* Foster positive relationships built on trust, empathy and clear expectations.
* Use visual supports, sensory tools, and communication strategies to aid learning.
* Track and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback to colleagues and families.
* Support pupils during transitions, outdoor learning, and enrichment activities.
* Model positive behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies for support staff.
-----------------------------------

About You

We are looking for a teacher who is:

* Passionate about meeting the needs of pupils with SEMH, ASD and ADHD.
* Experienced in primary teaching, ideally within a specialist or alternative provision.
* Calm, nurturing, and able to respond confidently to challenging behaviour.
* Highly adaptable with strong differentiation skills.
* Skilled in building trust and fostering emotional security for vulnerable learners.
* Collaborative, reflective and committed to ongoing professional development.
* Confident working with multi‑agency professionals, families, and external specialists.
-----------------------------------

Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Previous experience within SEN or SEMH settings (strongly preferred).
* Willingness to complete a DBS check (or provide an updated version).
* Two professional references.
* Proof of right to work in the UK.
