Longlands Care home is situated in Daventry, where we provide a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents with Dementia. Our friendly and committed staff offer the highest level of care and a programme of activities that help residents remain engaged and content.
Shift Details
12‑hour shifts are available, covering early and late shifts with alternate weekend work.
Responsibilities
* You will work closely alongside the management and support team, overseeing the day‑to‑day running of shifts.
* Manage a team of staff and take responsibility for their induction training, continuous development, and performance to ensure effective and efficient use of this resource in accordance with policy and objectives.
* Prioritise and direct the workload to team members, ensuring any issues are addressed promptly and the health, safety, and welfare of customers and employees are upheld.
* Assist the management team by providing and recording information to support and update care plans so that changes in customers’ needs can be met appropriately.
* Order, monitor, and administer medication to customers, ensuring prescribed drugs are used safely.
* Provide practical, personal and emotional care and support to WNC customers who have a range of health and social care needs.
* Support customers to maintain or develop social networks and interests, organising or participating in activities of their choice, and always treat customers with kindness, respect and compassion.
* Maintain sensitivity and discretion in all verbal and written information (Data Protection).
* Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
Qualifications
* You may be a senior carer looking for a permanent move or a Shift Lead wishing to gain more experience.
* Previous experience in care leadership and an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care (ideal) will be considered.
* Contribute, as a senior member of staff, to the overall management and development of service provision in the local area and plan for future services to meet diverse cultural needs.
* Contribute to the process of annual resource requirements reviews, monitoring budgets and planning future budget needs to meet customer needs within financial restraints.
* Actively promote a customer voice in service provision, encouraging self‑advocacy.
* Demonstrate awareness/understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
* Receive 2.5 weeks of induction training and a further 2‑4 weeks of a “Buddy scheme” to support your transition.
* Familiarity with the Quality Commission (CQC) and relevant legislation and regulations; ensure the home delivers high‑quality care and support.
