Trainee Transformation Programme Manager
Department: Transformation Team
Band: 7 – 8a £49,387 – £56,515 per annum, pro rata if part‑time
Hours: 37.5 per week – all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
You’ll start as a Band 7 and progress over a 36‑month period to a Band 8A (refer to person specification).
What You’ll Do
* Lead one or more major initiatives or programme areas that drive efficiency, improve service delivery, and enhance patient experience.
* Work closely with clinical, operational and corporate teams both within and outside the Trust.
* Use data and insights to inform decision‑making and ensure positive, measurable outcomes.
Who You Are
* An autonomous and skilled Programme Manager with experience in change management, service reviews and delivering efficiency schemes.
* An excellent communicator and collaborator, able to influence and engage diverse teams.
* Analytical and solution‑focused, with the ability to turn challenges into opportunities for improvement in patient outcomes.
This role will require close collaboration across MKUH, the BLMK Integrated Care System and other strategic partners. The postholder will be expected to apply advanced transformation, project and change management techniques to deliver measurable improvements.
Additional responsibilities include persuading board members and senior managers of the importance of initiatives, developing long‑term strategic plans, creating and managing programme budgets, leading a team, designing training programmes and acting as line manager.
Communication and relationship skills: build relationships with senior managers across the Trust, develop programme plans, involve patients and service users, and present complex information to senior teams.
Programme Management: deliver a programme management function covering multiple, simultaneous projects; develop programme documentation that provides governance and assurance in support of change and service improvements; align with the Trust’s strategic objectives.
