About the Role: ...
As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering core and foundation subject lessons to a class of 10 pupils. These pupils are working from pre-national curriculum levels through to national curriculum KS1, and they have a range of severe learning difficulties and complex needs. You will work with a fully adapted curriculum, utilising repetition, total communication approaches, and carefully scaffolded steps for progression. Additionally, you will collaborate with a supportive and specialised team of support staff to ensure the holistic development of each child. Some pupils may have medical needs, and they will be supported by fully trained staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and teach core and foundation subject lessons tailored to the needs of individual pupils.
2. Work closely with support staff to implement a fully adapted curriculum and specialised teaching strategies.
3. Conduct ongoing assessment, recording, and reporting of pupil progress towards EHCP targets and curriculum targets using our assessment system (competent levels of ICT required).
4. Collaborate with multi-professionals to ensure the individual needs of each pupil are met and appropriate strategies are implemented.
