The Emergency Care Directorate is currently looking to recruit Patient Transfer Assistants working a variety of shift patterns across 7 days. Full time and Part time working patterns are available.

You will be responsible for transferring patients across Wrexham Maelor Hospital. This is an essential service to the Trust and you will require excellent communication skills, good understanding of manual handling and safety and must lead by example within this role.

Main duties of the job

In addition to the below summary, you will need to familiarise yourself with the full Job Description and Person Specification documents attached to this advert.

The Transfer Team will assist with the flow of patients from the Emergency department, admission units and down stream wards. You will t ransfer patients from one clinical area to another on either a bed or a chair whilst working closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team within the clinical areas and management team

The Patient Transfer team are responsible for ensuring patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity and courtesy in accordance with BCUHB values. Ensuring at all times you act within the sphere of competence.

Ensure patient movement and other movement requests are actioned promptly. Also support in maintaining high standards of cleanliness of equipment and accessories, e.g. trolleys, beds, wheelchairs.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
