We seek an enthusiastic, motivated & talented coach with drive and ambition to coach our 1st and 2nd teams and help ensure the continued growth of our Club as a whole.
Wyre Forest Hockey Club is a relatively new, progressive, family-oriented club with a passion for success. It comprises of two teams competing in the Midlands Women’s Division 4 and 5. Founded in 2018 after a local club disbanded, Wyre Forest HC has been formed by players themselves. After entering the Midlands League, they quickly moved through the divisions to get to Division 4. Our 2nds team was established four seasons ago allowing us to cater for additional players both new to hockey and experienced players who are returning. The Club is small and still in its infancy but wishes to expand and progress in our league.
Our season runs from September to April, with pre-season formally starting towards the end of August.
The role includes but is not limited to:
* Pre-Season (starting in August) 1 Training session (c.2 hours per session) per week on Wednesday evenings at Winterfold House School, Kidderminster
* Attending matches at weekends (mainly Saturdays but occasional Sunday games)
* Planning and delivery of training sessions suitable for Midlands Women’s League
* Delivery of team tactics, strategy and play styles
* Working with Team Captains in weekly team selection
* Be involved in player recruitment activities where possible
* Assisting in team fitness would be an advantage
* Working alongside committee members in the delivery of the Club Development Plan
This would ideally be a long-term appointment with a yearly review at the end of every season.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Preferred: UKCC Level 2/ EH Session Coach/ EH Coach or above is preferred. (Level 2 is the old qualification) and have attended an appropriate safeguarding course in the last 3 years is preferred, (i.e., UK Coaching’s ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children’ Workshop • FA Safeguarding Children Workshop • RFU ‘Play it Safe’ • LTA Safeguarding & Protection in Tennis)
Considered: The candidate is working towardsan EH Sessional or Coach course and has attended the coaching for club players workshop and be willing to attend a safeguarding course.
First aid training would be an advantage.
The candidate must be eligible to work in the UK (UK/EU passport or valid work permit is necessary), provide DBS checks and speak a good standard of English.
This is a paid position with remuneration to be confirmed based upon qualifications, experience and the final role(s) agreed upon
