Job Description:

Job overview

The Lane Fox Respiratory Unit is looking for YOU!

If you are interested in specialist respiratory medicine and seeking a challenge, we offer a personalized induction program, supervision from our dedicated practice development team, and one-to-one support from the senior nursing team. You will also have the opportunity to participate in our ‘Introduction to Critical Care Nursing’ course, which provides practical and academic support to enhance your skills in caring for highly dependent patients with respiratory illnesses.

Here's what our staff say about us…

“It doesn’t matter how challenging the day is, if you got the team around you, you feel like you can do anything!”

“People ask me why I have been here for so long and I say to them I love my job, I love the patients, and there is nowhere in the world I would go that compares to how we work in Lane Fox.”

The Lane Fox Respiratory Unit is the largest weaning and home mechanical ventilation center in the UK, providing management and long-term follow-up for patients with chronic respiratory diseases like COPD and neuro-muscular diseases. It also offers specialist nurse-led clinics and a home ventilation service for assessing and advising patients with chronic respiratory illnesses.

Closing date: 7th July 2024

Interview date: 22nd July 2024

Main duties of the job

Our purpose-built 14-bed unit delivers high-quality specialized respiratory care to complex level 2 and level 3 patients, including:

* Tracheostomy management and mechanical ventilation
* Weaning from invasive mechanical ventilation
* Acute and chronic non-invasive ventilation
* High Flow oxygen therapy

If you share our vision to help patients with respiratory failure live independently, this is the perfect job for you. We welcome you to contact us to learn more about the role, and we would be happy to show you around the unit and answer any questions.
