Overview
Trainee STEM Lecturer required in Chatham, Kent. This unique opportunity allows you to join a collaborative and dynamic team delivering training at a modern facility with MKC Training. You will spend the first year in different departments, developing subject‑specific knowledge before focusing on the area of your choice. The role supports the teaching and assessment of engineering principles, laboratories and the corresponding mathematical techniques up to foundation degree level, as well as trade‑level engineering, electronics and computing for specific trades such as electricians, refrigeration engineers and fitters. You will have the opportunity to develop into a Lecturer within various STEM fields.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the teaching and assessment of engineering principles and laboratories. • Provide teaching support for trade‑level engineering, electronics and computing. • Assist the delivery of degree programmes and professional courses. • Develop and implement modern learning methods and technologies. • Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy to aid learner success. • Prioritise and manage tasks effectively in a small‑class environment.
Qualifications
* Technical or scientific experience with a relevant level 5 qualification minimum.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Commitment to maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
* Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in an applicable environment.
* Willingness to complete a level 3/5 teaching qualification within two years of starting the role.
Desirable
* Knowledge of relevant safeguarding legislation and requirements.
* Experience in a relevant engineering field.
* Teaching qualification and experience.
* Membership of an engineering professional body.
