Location: Sheffield
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday-Friday, 07:00-17:00 (occasional Saturdays)
Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays
We are recruiting for a skilled Plant Fitter to join a busy workshop team based in Sheffield, supporting a respected provider of waste management and recycling services. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of plant and machinery used across the waste, recycling and bulk handling operations, ensuring equipment is maintained to high standards of performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine and breakdown maintenance on plant machinery and equipment
* Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and inspections
* Ensure plant and machinery meets safety and compliance standards
* Complete accurate documentation, reports and job cards
* Work within a busy workshop following safe systems of work
* Support depot operations to minimise downtime and maximise fleet availability
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Mechanical Engineer, or similar role
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis skills
* Experience working on heavy plant, construction equipment or similar machinery
* Ability to prioritise work, problem solve and work independently
* Good communication skills and professional attitude
* Comfortable following health and safety, compliance and workshop procedures
