We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established engineering business in Wareham. This is a permanent, full-time role for a Quality Inspector who takes pride in accuracy, attention to detail, and ensuring precision components meet strict quality standards.
As the Quality Inspector, you will carry out inspections across a variety of components and assemblies, support process improvements, and work closely with engineering and production teams to maintain consistent quality. The Quality Inspector will be confident using measurement tools and interpreting engineering drawings, helping the business deliver reliable, high-specification products.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out first-off, roving, and final inspections on components and assemblies
Develop and support programs for automated measurement equipment
Record inspection data, identify non-conforming parts, and maintain accurate documentation
Work with engineering and production teams to resolve issues and support improvements
Provide feedback to ensure quality targets are met
Support general admin, housekeeping, and uphold high H&S standardsEssential Skills and Experience
Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Skilled using measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, indicators, and height gauges
Understanding of common machining processes such as milling and turning
Clear communication, collaborative approach, and problem-solving ability
Organised, detail-focused, and aware of Health & Safety requirements
Comfortable using Microsoft Word and ExcelDesirable Experience
CMM programming experience (MCOSMOS)
Vision system programming or shaft scanning experience
Background in precision engineering inspection
Knowledge of assembly methods or gear hobbingBenefits
