Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organised, reliable, and hard-working Warehouse Assistant to join our team at Humdingers Catering. This role involves supporting the Warehouse Manager with daily tasks to ensure smooth operations, efficient order fulfilment, and seamless coordination with the team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent timekeeping and organisational skills, and be capable of handling manual labour, including heavy lifting. Flexibility to work early starts, including shifts from 3 am, will be required on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Order Preparation: Assist in packing orders accurately and efficiently for clients, ensuring all items are properly handled and ready for dispatch.
* Inventory Management: Support in receiving deliveries, organising stock, and ensuring proper storage of all items within the warehouse.
* Timely Dispatch: Ensure that orders leave the warehouse in a timely manner, meeting client deadlines and requirements.
* Returns Tracking: Responsible for tracking and processing returns, ensuring that all returned items are handled appropriately.
* Communication: Liaise with the Kitchen Porters team to ensure smooth cleanup of returned catering equipment and resolve any issues.
* Manual Labour: Perform essential manual tasks, including heavy lifting, stock movement, and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment.
* Warehouse Support: Assist the Warehouse Manager with other ad-hoc duties as required to maintain efficient warehouse operations.
* Driving: A driving license is required, and on occasion, you will be asked to handle collections and deliveries as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Organisational Skills: Strong ability to stay organised and prioritise tasks effectively.
* Time Management: Excellent timekeeping and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
* Computer Literate: Comfortable with basic computer tasks, including inventory tracking and order management systems.
* Physical Strength: Must be capable of performing physical tasks and heavy lifting.
* Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to order accuracy, inventory levels, and returns tracking.
* Driving License: A valid driving license is required for occasional collections and deliveries.
* Experience: Previous experience in warehouse or catering roles is desirable.
* Flexibility: Ability to start early (from 3am) when required, depending on operational needs.
