This is a very important position within the abattoir sector. We provide an independent service in the classification of animal carcasses. Experience is not needed as we provide full training and support with the opportunity to achieve a certification licence, but experience in the industry is desirable.
We are Meat Livestock Classification Ltd (MLC) and we are looking for someone to join our Carcase Services Team. Once training is completed, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, weighing, and classifying pig carcasses within an abattoir.
Key responsibilities
Recording data accurately and within specified time‑scales
Abiding by industry‑wide standards of classification (EUROP)
Establishing and maintaining a close working relationship with the customer, paying attention to customer care and the promotion of MLC’s classification service
Completing the required documentation in an accurate and timely manner
Representing the company in a professional manner

Previous experience in the meat or livestock industry would be advantageous but not essential (e.g., as a butcher, farmer or in a slaughterhouse)
Pay from £24,692.94, rising to £26,572.98 on successful completion of the 1st test and again to £28,173.42 after successful completion of the 2nd test.
