Job Overview Job purpose Are you interested in a career in Childcare? We have an amazing opportunity to take on a Modern Apprentice for an excellent childcare setting in Bearsden! Working with children really is a career like no other. You have the chance to shape a young person's life, inspire their creative thought process and teach them skills they will use forever. Completing a Modern Apprenticeship will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified Practitioner. The successful applicants will be assisting senior practitioners and training under general direction of the manager. This is a full time position. In a Typical Day You Will Be Involved In setting up the play environment for a fun filled day of learning Implement planned learning experiences in line with the Curriculum for Excellence Keep children safe and well at all times Assist with snack, lunches and dinners Play outdoors in all weather! The Modern Apprenticeship takes candidates around 12 months to complete and you will be working towards an SVQ 3 Social Services Children and Young People qualification; this is a work-based qualification and once completed, you will become a fully qualified Childcare Practitioner. You will be employed by the nursery and l&g Learning will support you through your training. You’ll have a head start in this vacancy if you’ve completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field. We’ll need you to provide evidence of your qualification and show you gained the relevant skills from your placement. You should demonstrate a desire to work within the Childcare sector and have some form of relatable experience. Ideally you will have one National 5 qualification including English. However, we understand that not everyone will have achieved this level of qualification and will take this into consideration.
