We'd love to hear from you if you’re: used to multiple deadlines and managing your own workload skilled in organisation and planning, with a good eye for detail good at talking to, and getting on with, all kinds of people a hard-working and committed team player comfortable with IT: Microsoft Office, as well as web and social media experienced in producing interpretive materials, such as displays and exhibitions, and marketing or promotional materials familiar with health and safety procedures Visitor Experience OfficerYou’ll be reporting to the Experience and Programming Manager working with the wider property team at Tyntesfield.Tyntesfield is a rare survivor, a near complete Victorian country estate. Spanish born merchant, William Gibbs, made his vast fortune from the Guano trade in South America, and used his wealth to transform an ordinary Georgian country house into a Gothic Revival Masterpiece. This richly decorated house, with its ornate private chapel, reflects the deep religious faith held by William, his wife Blanche, and their seven children. It contains more than 70,000 of the families possessions, some collected by William as he traded in the Hispanic world. Outside there are flower filled terraces, towering trees, an abundant kitchen garden and the views across estate to the Somerset hills. As Visitor Experience Officer, your main focus will be on providing a great service for visitors. With your team, you’ll be welcoming people and inspiring them to really get to know Tyntesfield. This will include devising and running events and activities, and creating interpretive displays and other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life for everyone who comes here. You'll encourage visitors to take a closer look at artworks or precious objects cared for by the Trust.You will be supervising and supporting volunteers and organising rotas.
