Overview
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a permanent band 6 post working within the Mainstream team, delivering some therapy to children in mainstream schools. The role is based in Worthing locality on the beautiful West Sussex coastline, with easy access to Brighton, London and the South Downs.
This would be a varied role with opportunities supported by experienced clinical leads. We are committed to CPD and have individual CPD budgets. We have a strong focus on wellbeing with team wellbeing events throughout the year. Flexible working arrangements including part-time or flexible working will be considered.

Main duties of the job
Within the mainstream school team you will be responsible for managing your own caseload within identified schools, providing assessment, therapy, advice and training as required. An ability to develop strong working relationships with education staff is essential. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with a SALTA who provides therapy in school to specific children.
To assess and manage your own caseload of children with speech, language and communication delay and disorder in mainstream schools; provide advice to professionals and parents to support needs in the relevant area; liaise with other agencies and services (e.g., schools, social care, voluntary agencies); and advise and provide clinical support to other therapists.

Qualifications and experience
Essential
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Qualification/MRCSL
* HCPC Registration
* Experience of independently managing a clinical caseload
* Working in partnership with parents, teachers and other carers/support workers
* Experience of working within a relevant specialist area and developing specialist packages of care
* Inter-agency planning, consultation and working
* Experience of a range of caseload management and prioritisation systems
Desirable
* Membership of RCSLT
Skills and knowledge
* Excellent interpersonal skills and oral & written communication
* Competent IT skills
* Knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the client group
