Job Description:
Providing Quality Care
Do you have professional care experience and would like to support people by providing live-in support for a week or two at a time, supporting them by living in with them in their own home?
Here at Bluebird Care Derbyshire Dales & Amber Valley, we have established a reliable and popular live-in care service. Our aim is to support people to remain independent in their own homes for as long as they choose. We can take care of everyday tasks around our customers’ homes, all the way through to complex care needs, including end-of-life care if they choose to remain at home. We understand that every customer is different, which is why every day will be different.
We were awarded ‘Overall Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and we pride ourselves on selecting people who consider care a vocation. If you are passionate about providing the very best care and enjoy supporting with life's extras, then this role could be for you.
Your Duties and Responsibilities as a Live-in Care Assistant
As a Live-In Care Assistant, you will live with one of our customers, sometimes supporting a couple. Your role is to help them remain independent, cherish their memories, and often be their companion.
* Promoting health and well-being, enabling our customers to live their lives to the fullest
* Meal preparation
* Shopping
* Social outings
* Offering companionship
* Administering medication
* Moving and transferring, using equipment if required
You will live with our customers for 1-2 weeks, then have a week off, supporting regular customers. Working two weeks may involve supporting two regular customers. You will have at least a 2-hour daily break, which we are committed to protecting.
Our team typically works 1-2 weeks followed by one week off, with a minimum of one week support at a time to ensure good work/life balance.
Previous professional care experience of at least 12 months is required to ensure confidence and competence. We prioritize compassionate, caring, and patient individuals who can provide professional support.
Because we care about our team, we offer:
* Competitive pay of £770 - £840 per week (£725 during probation for new carers). Experienced carers receive the full rate from the start.
* Regular scheduled daily breaks and a predictable work pattern of 1-2 weeks on, one week off, with flexibility for 2 weeks on/2 weeks off.
* Guaranteed 2-hour daily breaks
* If using your own vehicle for customer visits, 35p per mile
* 28 days paid holiday
* Shared meals with customers (exceptions for special diets), a private room, WiFi, and access to TV
* Support from our local office and 5 days of classroom training before starting
* Ongoing training and support
* Opportunities to gain qualifications in Health and Social Care
