A note from the Founders
Oxford Dynamics is at an inflection point.
We operate in some of the most complex and high-stakes environments in the world: defence, national security, and incident response. The decisions we make now will define not just how fast we grow, but who we become.
We know that the best people don't always arrive in time for a specific job ad. If you're excited by ownership, pace and purpose, and by building something that genuinely matters, we'd love to hear from you, even if you don't see a live role that fits.
Who we are
Founded in 2020, Oxford Dynamics is a fast-growing UK deep-tech company developing both digital AI and physical AI systems designed to operate in dynamic, mission-critical environments.
Our flagship AVIS (A Very Intelligent System) platform fuses multi-modal data, including text, imagery, telemetry and sensor feeds, enabling operators to interrogate complex information at speed and make better decisions under pressure. We apply AVIS in the real world through platforms like STRIDER for CBRN applications and BARBARIAN for explosive ordnance detection.
Our ambition is simple but demanding: to converge AI and robotics so machines can sense, understand and act in complex, real-world environments. We work with defence and security organisations internationally to help protect nations, infrastructure and lives.
Requirements
Why a speculative application?
We're growing quickly, and the shape of our team is evolving alongside our roadmap. Some of the best hires we'll make over the next twelve months won't match a job description that exists today. If your skills, experience or ambitions feel aligned with what we're building, we want to know about you now, so that when the right role opens, you're the first person we call.
Skill sets we're particularly interested in
We're always keen to hear from people with strengths in areas including:
* Agentic and generative AI engineering, particularly people shipping multi-agent systems, LLM and vision-language model pipelines, and secure or air-gapped deployments
* Robotics and physical AI, including autonomy, perception, control, and hardware-software integration on platforms operating in hazardous or unpredictable environments
* Product and strategy leadership for deep-tech or robotics, with a feel for both the engineering and the commercial picture
* Business development and bid leadership in defence, national security or other regulated, high-trust environments
* MLOps, observability and secure-by-design engineering for AI systems in production
* Customer-facing technical roles that translate complex capability into clear value for operators and decision-makers
This isn't an exhaustive list. If you're working at the convergence of AI, robotics and mission-critical environments, and you can see yourself contributing to what we're building, please do reach out to us.
What we look for in people
Across every part of the business, we're drawn to people who:
* Take ownership and make sound judgment calls under pressure
* Ship working systems and outcomes, not prototypes or plans
* Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences
* Thrive in small teams where impact is visible and immediate
* Care about the mission and the people our work ultimately protects
Existing SC or DV clearance is a strong advantage for our roles, though not a prerequisite for getting in touch. If you meet the eligibility criteria, this is something we can discuss.
