Euroforest Silviculture is looking for an experienced professional to join our Forest Management team as a Forest Manager, based at our Brecon Office. This is your opportunity to step into a leading role as we grow our services and presence across South Wales. You’ll work at the heart of our operations, collaborating with both harvesting and forest management teams, and making your mark across estate forestry, new woodland creation and commercial sites. All within a motivated, supportive team that values your expertise.


The Position

* Responsibility for the identification, assessment, quantification, and implementation of the full range of forest management operations.
* Overseeing the successful delivery of operational programmes to meet client objectives, compliant with health and safety, regulatory and environmental legislation.
* Liaising directly with clients, landowners, statutory bodies and other stakeholders.
* Coordinating the full range of establishment and maintenance of young conifer, mixed and broadleaved crops on restock or new planting sites, across upland and lowland settings.
* Preparing budgets, annual reports, and financial forecasts.
* Compiling management plans & long‑term production forecasts.
* Programming of thinning and felling and undertaking timber assessment, marking and mensuration where appropriate.
* Monitoring and measuring compliance in the execution of timbersale contracts.
* Managing tenders for occasional contracts and execute successful opportunities.
* Promoting the business and acquiring new business opportunities within the region.

Training and support will be provided to introduce the successful applicant to company systems and procedures. Further training is provided to allow the candidate to develop their role and specialisms within the business over time.


Qualification & Experience

* Proven experience in forest management, where directly involved in the day‑to‑day management of forest properties.
* Proven experience in dealing directly with woodland owners, statutory bodies or stakeholders.
* Relevant academic qualification (Forestry or other land‑ or science‑based discipline).
* Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable.
* Knowledge of the regulatory systems underpinned by the Forestry Act (1967) and Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) (both as amended).
* A strong degree of commercial acumen, and balanced understanding of upland and lowland silviculture, and the full range of operations from new planting and restocking through to harvesting.
* Knowledge of the requirements of UKFS and UKWAS.
* Knowledge of lowland and mixed conifer / broadleaved silviculture and the management of PAWS & ASNW woodlands would be desirable.
* An understanding of the grant and regulatory systems would be advantageous.

* Ability to mentor and develop a team.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency with IT systems, with experience of Office 365 suite and GIS mapping.
* Clean, Full UK Drivers Licence.
