Role Description
These are full‑time, on‑site roles based in Kent for Garage Managers, Assistant Managers, MOT Testers, and Technicians. Team members will oversee or support daily workshop operations, including scheduling work, allocating jobs, and ensuring efficient use of bays and equipment. Responsibilities include carrying out MOT tests to current DVSA standards (for MOT Testers), performing diagnostics, servicing, and mechanical repairs (for Technicians), and maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance. Managers and Assistant Managers will lead and develop the team, support staff training, manage stock and parts ordering, and contribute to financial performance and reporting. All roles involve delivering excellent customer service, clearly explaining work required and completed, and helping maintain the centre’s clean, professional environment.

* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a workshop team and build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
* Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally to customers and team members.
* Customer service skills, with a focus on providing a friendly, respectful, and solution‑oriented experience for every visitor.
* Analytical skills to diagnose vehicle issues, interpret test results, and make sound, safety‑focused decisions.
* Basic finance understanding for managers and assistant managers, including awareness of budgets, margins, and workshop productivity.
* Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent) for Technicians and MOT Testers.
* Valid MOT Tester qualification (DVSA‑approved) for MOT Tester positions, with up‑to‑date knowledge of MOT regulations.
* Proven experience in an automotive workshop, fast‑fit, or similar environment; previous supervisory experience is beneficial for management roles.
